We work extensively with existing buildings, often of some architectural significance, sometimes in very sensitive contexts. We are able to draw up feasibility strategies for building stock, often coming up with unexpected solutions that can transform and enhance properties.

The practice has experience of the conservation of listed buildings. Julie when at LDN architects was project manager for the restoration and transformation of the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool a grade 1 listed building.

We have worked with traditional rural buildings since the founding of the practice. Often, quite ordinary structures can be transformed, for instance relocating living areas to the first floor to capitalise on view.

Renovation does not always mean working with historic buildings. We have experience of working with existing building stock of all sizes and ages in both doemstic and commercial environments.
